FAQ
How do I update the theme?
Download the latest package from your account, then upload it via Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload. WordPress will replace the existing version while preserving settings.
Will updates override my changes?
Edits in child themes are safe. Customizations made directly to parent theme files will be overwritten. Always place CSS overrides in Appearance → Customize → Additional CSS or a child theme.
Why do I see broken images after demo import?
Your host may block external image fetching. Re-run the importer after temporarily disabling security plugins, or manually upload placeholder images to /wp-content/uploads/.
Can I use the license on staging and production?
Yes. Add both domains to the same license in Woozio → License. Activations on staging do not consume an extra seat.
Avoid running multiple import operations simultaneously on staging and production. It can exhaust your host resources and lead to partial content.
What plugins are required before importing a demo?
Woozio requires three essential plugins and one recommended plugin:
Required plugins:
- Advanced Custom Fields PRO
- Gravity Forms
- Smart Slider 3 Pro
Recommended plugin:
- WooCommerce
After activating the theme, navigate to Appearance → Themes and click Begin installing plugins to install them all at once. Make sure you have license keys ready for the premium plugins before installation.
How do I install the required plugins?
- Go to Appearance → Themes in your WordPress admin.
- You'll see a yellow notice banner listing the required plugins.
- Click Begin installing plugins.
- On the "Install Required Plugins" page, select all plugins using the checkbox at the top.
- Choose Install from the Bulk Actions dropdown and click Apply.
- Wait for the installation to complete—do not refresh the page during this process.
Why do I need to activate my license before importing a demo?
Activating your theme license unlocks premium features including demo import functionality. Without an active license, you won't be able to access the Appearance → Import Demos menu or import any demo content. License activation also provides access to theme updates, premium support, and plugin installation/updates.
Where can I find my Envato Purchase Code?
Your Purchase Code can be found in your ThemeForest account:
- Log in to your ThemeForest account.
- Go to Downloads section.
- Find your Woozio theme purchase.
- Click Download and select License Certificate & Purchase Code.
- Copy the Purchase Code and paste it into Settings → Envato Settings → Purchase code field.
What does "License Mismatch" mean and how do I fix it?
A "License Mismatch" error occurs when your license key doesn't match your current domain. This typically happens after changing your domain URL or moving your site to a new domain.
To fix it:
- Navigate to Settings → Envato Settings.
- Click the Reactivate License button.
- Enter your Purchase Code again and click Register your theme.
This will update your license to match your current domain.
Can I preview a demo before importing it?
Yes! On the Appearance → Import Demos page, each demo thumbnail has a PREVIEW button. Clicking it opens the live demo in a new browser tab so you can see exactly what you'll get before importing. This helps you choose the right demo layout for your needs.
How long does the demo import process take?
The import process typically takes 5-15 minutes, depending on:
- Your server speed and resources
- Your internet connection speed
- The size of the demo package (number of images and content)
Large demo packages with many images will take longer. Be patient and do not refresh the page or close the browser tab during import.
Can I refresh the page or close the browser during import?
No, absolutely not. Refreshing the page or closing the browser tab during import will interrupt the process and may result in:
- Incomplete content import
- Missing media files
- Broken page layouts
- Corrupted database entries
Keep the browser tab open and wait for the import to complete. You'll see progress indicators showing content import, media import, and settings configuration progress.
Why don't I see the "Import Demos" menu option?
If you don't see Appearance → Import Demos in your WordPress admin sidebar, it usually means:
- Theme license is not activated — You must activate your license first at Settings → Envato Settings.
- Theme is not activated — Make sure Woozio theme is active in Appearance → Themes.
- Required plugins are missing — Install all required plugins first.
After activating your license, the Import Demos menu should appear.
Will importing a demo overwrite my existing content?
The demo import will add new content (pages, posts, products) to your site, but it won't automatically delete your existing content. However, if the demo includes pages with the same slugs as your existing pages, they may conflict.
Best practice: Import demos on a fresh WordPress installation or use a staging site. If importing on a site with existing content, review what gets imported and manually adjust as needed.
Do I need to disable caching plugins before importing?
Yes, it's recommended to disable caching plugins during the import process to avoid stale assets and ensure all content imports correctly. After the import is complete, you can re-enable your caching plugins and clear your cache.
To disable caching:
- Temporarily deactivate caching plugins like WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache, or WP Super Cache
- Clear any CDN cache if applicable
- Re-enable caching after import completion
What should I do if the import fails or stops midway?
If the import fails or stops before completion:
-
Check server resources:
- Increase PHP memory limit (recommended: 256MB or higher)
- Increase max execution time (recommended: 300 seconds or higher)
-
Disable conflicting plugins:
- Temporarily disable other plugins that might interfere
- Keep only required plugins active
-
Check server error logs:
- Review your hosting error logs for specific error messages
- Contact your hosting provider if you see server-related errors
-
Re-run the import:
- Navigate back to Appearance → Import Demos
- Click IMPORT again on the same demo
- The importer will skip already imported content
